20th Russian media congress starts in New York to be held in New York from 24 to 26th of September, National Accent website informs. Chairmen and publishers representing few hundred Russian mass media resources gather to discuss the role of the media in the life of local communities.

According to the organizers, media plays a huge role in preserving cultures of the multinational unity and Russian compatriots' identity. Such issues as news coverage in Russia and abroad, supporting positive image of Russia, information access and free interaction in Russian are going to be among the main topics.

As Russkiy Mir reported previously, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams has invited Russian media to hold the conference in New York. 50% of Russian-speaking New Yorkers live in Brooklyn, while there are more than 700,000 of Russian-speaking inhabitants residing in the city.

Let us remember, the previous congress took place in Belorussian capital.
